I founded my site around the idea that balance isn’t a frantic juggling exercise- my definition of balance is making time for what’s most important. My services include work I do best so that you can focus on what you do best.
I’ve applied my proofreading and editing skills on a contract basis since I graduated in 2008 with an English degree. I started my first blog in 2010, started writing online consistently in 2011, and launched The Balanced Wife earlier this year.
My personal projects have driven me to become a student of social media and online marketing, while my professional work has taught me to manage email, voicemail, research and editing on behalf of others.
As an independent contractor who wears many hats, I think entrepreneurially and can understand the needs and frustrations of those I serve.

The first step is a complimentary consultation via Skype or phone call to get acquainted and see if we are a good fit. We can do this by email if you’re not a phone person.
If you decide to move forward, you can buy a block of hours. The more hours you buy, the cheaper the hourly rate. Hours are available to be used at your discretion for one year from date of purchase.
Payments and Refunds:
All payments are made upfront via Paypal. Refund requests are reviewed on a case by case basis.
After the initial consultation, everything related to work I do for you is billable, including phone calls, emails and work I do on your behalf.
I keep track of time in 15 minute increments, and time sheets are available upon request at the end of your package of hours.
Hours of Operation:
I am typically available Monday through Friday from 9:00-5:00 EST. I do not work on weekends or holidays.
Email is my preferred communication method. I am available for scheduled Skype or phone calls.
I respond to communications within 48 hours, not including weekends and holidays.
During the initial consultation, I’ll evaluate your needs and let you know how soon I can begin work on your project.
What Happens When You Run Out of Hours or Your Hours Expire
When you get down to your last few hours, I will send you an email and let you know. If you’d like a timesheet, you’ll be able to request it then as well.
You’ll be able to decide whether you’d like to buy more hours or whether you’d like to part ways and not buy more hours.
I’ll send three emails when your hours are close to expiring. Hours that haven’t been used after one year expire, and refunds are not available on unused hours.
Ending our Relationship
You may end our relationship at any time, but I recommend using any hours you have first, as refunds will not be available for unused hours.
If I decide to end our relationship for any reason, I will let you know by email and finish the work you’ve paid for. I’ll recommend a new virtual assistant if I know someone that would be a good fit.
