I’m in California for a visit with family and friends, a wedding, and a wedding shower. I’ll be in the mountains, on the coast, and in the East Bay at my parents’ (my) house in between. It’s gonna be a whirlwind.
I’ve heard Hayley Morgan of The Tiny Twig talk about “using up all her words,” and I think she’s on to something. With all the overdue catching up, I don’t know how many words I’ll have left.
While writing helps me clarify my ideas and decide what I really think about things, it’s still a form of communication.
I hope to spend plenty of time thinking and writing, since that counts more as fun than work for me. But between the car trips and the reunions and the coffee chats and the shopping we’ll see how much of my thinking and writing gets filtered into coherent blog content.
I’d love to hear from you while I’m on my break(ish). What should I write about in the next few months? What have I written that’s resonated with you, and what hasn’t? Email me (jacey (at) the balanced wife (dot) com) or leave a comment here if you care to weigh in.
I’d love to be a true artist who writes for my love of writing alone, but this blog wouldn’t be public if that were the case. I write for me, but I write for you, too, so I’d love my writing to help, encourage, inspire or entertain you. Any pointers are welcomed and encouraged. Unless they’re flat out mean, in which case, take your mother’s advice and keep it to yourself.
Even if I don’t update here, I will be on Instagram, so you can follow me there. Disclosure: I don’t have kids, but pictures of my golden retriever tend to dominate my Instagram. So if you hate cute pictures of dogs, you’ve been duly warned. Also, if you hate dogs, you might be depressed, so get that checked out with your doctor. Or just follow me on Instagram anyway because pictures of Jack will cure all that ails you.
